get the optometric service from the
qualified, competent and
professional eye care provider.
(ii) To inform the public on how to differentiate between
the optometry
practitioners which has been allowed to practice contact lens
(contact
lens practitioners) and the one which has not been allowed
to
practice.
(iii) To minimize and control the unqualified and non-registered
optometry
practitioners (bogus).
(iv) To create awareness of the important of comprehensive
eye
examination before and after wearing the contact lens and
a regular-
eye check up with the approved contact lens practitioner.
5. MECHANISM OF IMPLEMENTATION
(i) The Photo Name Certificate (PNC) will bear the direct
information
regarding the scope of practice of the private registered
optometry
practitioner.
(ii) The PNC will be produced ANNUALLY to each and every private
registered optometry practitioner with a valid annual practicing
certificate.
